Job Type: Contract

Location: Lafayette Louisiana (preferred) or Remote. Even though Lafayette, LA is a preferred location, this job is fully remote.

Overview

As a WordPress Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress-based websites and applications. You will work closely with a project/product manager, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet our clients’ needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about WordPress development and eager to work on exciting projects in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers and designers to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins based on design mockups and specifications.
  • Customize existing WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements.
  • Optimize website performance, security, and scalability.
  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise, and provide timely solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the development team.
  • Collaborate with other developers on larger projects, sharing knowledge and expertise.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a WordPress Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Experience with Gutenberg as a page builder and other tools for WordPress design.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Experience with WordPress theme and plugin development.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodologies for Software Development.
  • Knowledge of web standards and best practices for accessibility and SEO.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with other CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal, Joomla) is a plus.
